NZSCTA Rookie Swim Teacher of the Year 2016
Hiya, I started swimming with Fulton Swim School when I was 11, after moving to Franklin from the Coromandel. Having grown up at the beach I spent most of my childhood in the water and have always loved swimming! I was part of surf lifesaving for 5 years and was a rookie lifeguard for the last 2 years. I still have a strong passion for swimming and like to get into a pool and swim whenever I can. I am so proud to be able to pass my passion onto the children I teach and to watch them grow as competent swimmers.
I have been working for Fulton for a few years now and I love my job just as much now, as I did when I first started. I find teaching super rewarding when my students are excited about learning and finally achieve a skill or goal that they have been working really hard on.
Growing up, I was always in and around the water and I think swimming is a fundamental skill for anyone living in NZ.
Feel free to come say hi to me or ask me any questions you may have about your child's learning 😊
Hiya! My name is Alexia I joined the Fulton swimming team in August 2019 and I’m loving it so much! It is so rewarding seeing the kids progress. I love working with children and find this job to be perfectly suited for my personality. I’m currently in my last year of high school and planning on going to university next year. I have always been around the water growing up and find the skill of being able to swim very important and I have now been given the opportunity to help young kids learn this skill which I am very excited about.
Hi my name is Jess and I have been a swim teacher for about a year now. I attended swimming lessons at Fulton Swim School when I was younger, progressing through all the levels and then I went on to swim competitively for the swim club. Swimming has always been a big part of my life. Being a swim teacher is a very rewarding job as you get to teach children how to swim which is a skill they will use for the rest of there life, it is also rewarding seeing children achieve their goals. I am currently at University of Auckland studying Physical Education which is a sport /teaching degree.
My bio is coming soon !
Hello everyone, a lot of you would've seen me between Patumahoe and Puni pool by now. But I'm Kaitlyn, I'm 22 and I joined Fulton in January 2019. A little bit about me, I've been a "Nanny" for four years, I worked at Montessori house of children in Drury for two years. I then went on to have shoulder surgery then joined Fulton and loved it ever since. I've lived and grown up in Franklin. I've got an older brother, a little brother and little sister. Working with children is something I throughly enjoy, let alone meeting and getting too know the families to come with it. I'm loving watching the children I teach come so far and I can't wait for more!
Hi I’m Kelly, a little insight on who I am is that I love sports and socialising, so most of my time consists of being active with teams or friends, especially hockey. Swimming has been a big part of my life allowing me to join and compete for social organisations such as surf lifesaving, which has encouraged my passion to teach people of all ages the valuable skill of swimming. Another thing I hold close to my heart is food, I’m a very happy girl on a full tummy so there’s no harm in bringing me a snack from time to time :P
Hi! I’ve been teaching swimming for more than ten years now from babies to adults. I used to be a competitive swimmer back in the Philippines for 8 years. I love teaching children to be safe and watching them having fun in the water is very fulfilling. I have one son, Ethan and my brother also used to teach at Fulton Swim School. I love the outdoors and spending time with my son. I am a qualified AUSTSWIM Teacher for Swimming and Water Safety, for Infant and Preschool Aquatics, and also an AUSTSWIM Assessor for Swimming and Water Safety. I am the Head Coach for FAST (Fulton Amateur Swim Team) which is our competitive swim team.
Hi everyone, my name is Tia I have recently moved to Onewhero from the sunny Bay Of Plenty. I grew up in the small town of Kawerau where I had discovered my passion for the water and joined Kawerau Swimming Club for 2 years. I started working as a Swim Teacher with Fulton Swim School in December 2019 and I am absolutely loving every minute as it is very rewarding seeing all the students progress and succeed positively.
