AGE FROM 13 MONTHS

Unlimited energy. In most cases the child has mastered crawling, walking, and climbing - the infants gross motor skill develop very quickly at this age. Gross motor skill are what an infant uses to walk, crawl, and climb. To be able to develop gross motor skills the child needs to have postural control (control of head), strength and balance. The infant will test the physical limitations of their muscles and abilities. They love to explore and are very social and friendly although they can still go through another anxiety stage - this usually doesn't last long. The toddler will now start to copy what others do - if you demonstrate something they will imitate you as long as it is simple. Between 13 and 16 months they are inconsistent in their need for you - one moment they will want to be close the next they will want to be away.

Quinn has had a busy few months - he is walking, hasn't been happy with his swimming time with Dad a few tears, seemed to be looking for Mum. Sarah joined him in the water and he is much happier, back to his smiley self.
